Sara Jewelry Design. New additions to my Kenyan Collection. I took these 19x22mm curved, batiked bone tile beads and finished them with a polycrylic seal for color-fastness. I then accented them on either side with 6mm dotted pewter rondelles in an antiqued silver tone finish. The final touch was to string them on 2mm black cotton cordage and fit them with my convertible closure. The closure works by simply sliding the 10mm carved bone round up and down the length of the necklace. Two additional dotted pewter rondelles stopper the ends, allowing you to wear this at the length you like best, anything from a 14-inch choker to a 28-inch pendant. Let the beaded tails cascade down your back or bring them over the shoulders to the front for added emphasis. The listing is for one pendant; there are just three available in the styles shown. Moving from left to right in photo #1, they are:MPIN NWPBone070814-03.519 Brown ZigzagMPIN NWPBone070814-01.517 Black Swirl andMPIN NWPBone070814-02.518 Black ZigzagChoose your favorite from the drop down Batik Pattern menu.I will send one your way the next business day via insured USPS first class mail with a tracking ID number. When he retired from jewelry making and returned to his homeland, I was blessed with acquiring a large selection of these treasures.Batiking is often achieved with various pigments, including coffee, tea, charcoal, ink and so on. Because it i s not always possible to know what has been used in the dyeing process, I routinely seal the beads to make them colorfast. This is particularly important in larger drum-style beads that are filled with charred wood. I have sealed these particular beads with a clear polycrylic top coat.Sara Jewelry Design.
